FORT NEAGLE

A floating, somewhat-circular wooden fortress that contains about a dozen buildings encircling a large central harbor. More buildings have also been built on the underside of the fortress to serve the aquatic merchants and traders, just like the drylanders above. Above water, ships and sailboats fill the harbor, while travel-whales and utility-sharks are "docked" below the surface. This is an old trading post that serves as a trade connection between local land and aquatic communities. It also serves as an outpost at the edge of a massive shallow reef, so sailing vessels often stop here to seek guidance (or even hire guides) about traversing these treacherous waters. Fort Neagle is instrumental for both the Pearl Trade above water and the Metal Goods Trade below.

Directory

The Trading Post
Run by an elder halfling man named Ol' Bristle Nob, this is a one-stop shop for all that anyone could want or need on the high seas.

Smyth's Smithie
Wendel Smyth specializes in metal parts for ships and ship repair, but also offers tools, daggers, axes, and cutlasses.

The Pearl Exchange
The fort makes much of its revenue through the pearl trade. This is where pearls are delivered, sorted, stored, shipped, and sometimes purchased.

Wayside Inn
Offers small private and double rooms, as well as more luxurious options for the wealthier merchants who regularly pass through.

The Boarding Hall
A large single room building filled with dozens of hammocks to rent for the night.
Herman's Cantina
The only tavern in Fort Neagle is painted bright yellow and run by an Octopus-folk man named Herman. The large single-room building surrounds an open-air courtyard.

Seafood Stalls
Three simple market stalls, positioned next to the Cantina, sell a variety of fresh seafood.

Maurice's Tattoo Stand
More of a stool than a "stand," Maurice has offered a wide range of tattoos to sailors for nearly two decades.

Public Baths
Patrons are given a bucket of clean water, a large ladle, a small bar of soap, and small towel/rag. They are led to a communal room with drains and stools where they may wash themselves.

The Red Shanty
A red two-story building with wrap-around porches that leans slightly. This serves as the brothel for Fort Neagle.
