Fire drakes are often harnessed as mounts by enterprising mercenaries. A drake can survive in a vacuum, so if the rider is wearing spellarmor they are a real force to be reckoned with. Left to their own devices drakes will congregate around fire catalysts.
They're rarely seen unless domesticated, though they are sometimes used in the arena circuit as a test for skilled gladiators. Drakes are expensive, though, so such fights are rarely to the death.
While drakes resemble their much more fearsome cousin-- the Wyrm, they are not in any way the same. Their intelligence is animalistic at best, more akin to a dog or cat than to a sentient being.

Breathe Flame
Dice Pool: 10

Defense: Skepticism
Fire drakes are nasty if they get in close. They can breathe a cone of superheated flame that clings to anything it comes into contact with. Anything vulnerable, which is pretty much everything, catches on flame. Including starship hulls. This still is nasty.
Tail Lash
Dice Pool: 8
Damage: 12 Physical
Defense: Brace
The drake lashes out with its tail, stabbing the target with the heavy spike at the end. A drake may make a free tail lash each combat round without incurring any of the normal penalties for splitting dice pools.
