Bone thieves are one of the worst nightmares I have ever encountered, and I pray you never do. At first glance the creature appears to be some sort of misshapen unliving skeleton held together with sinewy flesh. That flesh is in reality a swarm of tiny insect corpses animated with a singular purpose.
They consume flesh, and when nothing but the skeleton is left they pick it up and absorb it into their bodies. The more bones they've absorbed the tougher these things get, and you can tell how scary they're going to be by how many skulls they have.
Bone thieves prefer attacking from melee range so as to devour prey, but possess spirit magic and are not afraid to use it. Those spirit bolts are nasty.

The bone thief lunges at the target with an appendage comprised of hungry unliving insects. These insects devour the flesh of the target, and are strong enough to eat through spellarmor.
Absorb Bone
After stripping the flesh with devour the bone thief will add the skeleton of its victim to its body. Each skeleton added increases total hit points by 5 making large bone thieves difficult to whittle down. After a bone thief has absorbed 5 victims it will grow an extra neck and skull. These function as multiple limbs which do not award extra attacks, but do increase accuracy on all attacks by 1 per skull.
