Army structure
Composition of an army corps
840 foot soldiers = 1 battalion,
4 battalions = 1 regiment,
2 regiments = 1 brigade, 3 brigades = 1 division
The most clever and knowledgeable soldiers. Calibrate magical weapons and establish warding systems.
Highly mobile soldiers with high magical endurance. Mounted on conjured structures that they maintain for hours.
The most skilled mages in the kingdom. Work their magic perfectly together to create powerful attacks and defences.
Lone Aces
In addition to the regular army corps are independent lone aces who are under the direct command of His Majesty who can lend them to a general during a war. They are extremely powerful mages wearing the best magical equipment and weapons who can devastate an entire army of regular soldiers just by themselves. They stand outside of the normal army and are sent on special royal mission or on a battlefield to counter an enemy ace. In such case, all other soldiers have to hurry out of the way of their duels if they do not want to be crushed like insects. As the best of the best, their identity and skills are always known to their enemies, and so tactical choices have to be made on which specific ace to send to duel which enemy ace.
I like that the elite brigade look like they are fist bumping in front of an explosion. Poor chosen one. That's a lot of pressure.
