Lycan
The world's equivalent to werewolves, lycans are a small population after the Shattering wiped out half or more of their group. As a result, they're focused on breeding strength to repopulate and recapture some of the power they once had.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Lycans have full control over shifting to wolf form except for three days around every full moon. Sometime in that three days, they must change or they start having disruptive symptoms, including but not limited to extreme irritablilty, hallucinations, and depression. These symptoms subside after the lycan shifts for at least an hour. Most lycan families, or packs, arrange to shift together when the family all lives at home.
Lycan wolf forms largely correspond to their human forms. A typical lycan is between 5 feet 10 inches and nearly 7 feet tall. They tend to be muscular and active, generally preferring physical activity to mental.
Similarly, a Lycan runt is generally between 5 feet and 6 feet tall, and tends to be wiry or willowy. Their wolf forms are small and often described as "scrawny", and they are not allowed to breed, to keep the genetics strong.
