Valéquyrie

Nestled amongst the forested mountains and perched atop the limestone cliffs, a proud people maintain a quiet dignity and peaceful indifference to the struggles of the rest of the world. The people of Quyrie-Ève   The Valéquyrie that inhabit Quyrie-Ève are known for their extravagant culture, intricate politics and devout faith in the divine, as evidenced by the merging of politics and religion.   Individuals could interact with the gods for their own purposes, appealing for help through prayer or compelling the gods to act through magic. These practices are distinct from, but closely linked with, the formal rituals and institutions. Valéquyrian belief in the afterlife and the importance of funerary practices is shown through the great efforts made to ensure the survival of their souls after death – via the provision of tombs, grave goods and offerings to preserve the bodies and spirits of the deceased.   Music and dance are also fundamental to Valéquyrian culture, from popular entertainments to further exhibitions of wealth and status, to important religous ceremonies.   The horns of the Aetheri aren't just for show; they're as unique and personal as a fingerprint. Each set is a testament to the individual's life and spirit. They can be smooth and spiraled like the shell of a nautilus, curved and sharp like a crescent moon, or branching like the antlers of a mighty stag. They can be polished like obsidian, gleaming with the light of the sun, or textured like ancient wood, adorned with natural patterns and markings that tell a story. The horns are not a burden, but a source of pride, connected directly to their senses and emotions. Valéquyrie can feel the subtle shifts in the wind and the vibrations in the earth through them. When an Aetheri is joyful, their horns seem to radiate a gentle warmth; in sorrow, they can feel a slight, dull ache.   The Valéquyrie are a deeply connected and harmonious people. Their society is built around the rhythms of nature, and they live in homes carved directly into the very mountainsides. Their days are spent tending to glowing flora, weaving fabrics from the threads of cocoons, and crafting intricate tools from crystalline minerals found in the earth. Though they are a peaceful people, their horns are a symbol of their strength and resilience. In times of need, they are capable defenders of their homeland, moving with a grace that belies their powerful forms.
