The Keystone
There is not a more potent symbol of ingenuity, industry, and a new golden age in all of Isturoth than the Keystone, a monument to progress and opulence.
It is a towering, cathedral-like structure that serves as the city's power source. The Keystone would be the central power plant—a monument to technology and progress.
It appears as a colossal, stepped tower built from polished black granite and gleaming brass. Its geometric, symmetrical design is a hallmark of Sacred Geometry, but its purpose is also industrial. The exterior could be covered in intricate bas-relief carvings depicting scenes of innovation: steam trains, airships, and titanic gears turning in unison.
The name "Keystone" represents its vital role as the crucial hub that locks the city's power grid together, making it the indispensable foundation of the new industrial world. Its sheer size and central location makes it a literal and figurative keystone of the entire metropolis.
The Dynamo
At the heart of the building is a single, awe-inspiring engine (also called an Iron Heart). This colossal Dynamo, a masterpiece of engineering and the first of its kind, is the true symbol of the city's power. Visitors can observe the machine from raised galleries, watching as massive gears turn with rhythmic precision and electrical arcs dance between sparking terminals. The sound of its operation—a rhythmic hum and the crackle of electricity—has become the city's new pulse.
The Keystone symbolises Isturoth's mastery over the world. It is a monument to the new age, where power is no longer granted by the divine, but is generated through the sheer force of innovation and labor.
