Skitix
The name given to the school of Zhak'raa magic that involves the creation and manipulation of ice. It is one of four disciplines under the Master rank of magic, and is usually considered by others to be the most difficult to master.
Effect
Skitix spells most commonly make use of ice in a natural environment to impale or lacerate. It is also possible to freeze liquid water to utilise in spells, as well as freezing whatever moisture is in the air around the caster. Through the power of Zhak'raa, even the blood in a victim's veins can be frozen, instantly killing them.
Side/Secondary Effects
Like all Master schools of magic under Zhak'raa, there is a significant drain on the physiological wellbeing of the user. These spells tend to leave the spellcasters fatigued as well as mentally exhausted.
In particular, Skitix spells tend to leave patches of frosbite that spread across the skin, which blisters and blackens, starting with the fingertips. The body temperature is permanently lowered to cope with the intense cold, resulting in a high fatality rate. Those who pass this trial, however, become masters of the ice and are unable to return to warmer climates.
Requirements
The school of Skitix requires only ice, or at least a liquid to freeze. Sometimes even this is not necessary, as the truly expert practitioners are able to pull water from the air or freeze the blood in their victim's veins. Master Archomancers in this school almost always dwell in frozen environments though, due to the ready availability of ice.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
