Crystallic Inscription

The writing system of the old empire was not merely a way to record information, but a permanent, sacred art form. Known as the Crystallic Inscription, it was a complex system of glowing, geometric runes physically written onto scrolls and carved into stone with a specialized, magically-infused ink. These inscriptions were impossibly durable and were seen as an unchangeable record of the truth, a testament to the White Order's obsession with permanence and control. The runes would glow with a cold, internal light, their intricate patterns a reflection of the empire's rigid structure.   When the Annihilation occurred, the inscriptions did not vanish; instead, the magical ink that formed them became corrupted. The beautiful, glowing runes now grow and spread like a magical mold, their crystalline forms becoming sharp and jagged, distorting the original meaning. These corrupted inscriptions are a physical manifestation of the Magical Bleed, and a source of danger to any who get too close. The few, truly uncorrupted inscriptions that remain are a rare glimpse into the controlled, elegant power of a world that is no more.
