The Lost City - Campaign Information
The Campaign
This adventure will be set near the City of Endhome, the surrounding wilderness, and dungeons that delve into the earth. Endhome is an independent city-state located to the south of Saltmarsh and the Plains of Mayfarrow. They are neighbored by the Foere Crown, the Kingdom of Oceanus and some of Bards Gates Territory. They are currently at peace with the surrounding kingdoms, and most of the nearby villages look to their soldiers for protection. This game is set during the Great Darkness that befell the Akadian Coast, which has allowed evil to fester unchecked in the realms of men. All across the continent scholars, soldiers, drunks and sages speculate on the cause and how long it will persist. Some say it will last forever, and that the sun has shined upon Akados for the final time. Some say the sun will return, that a champion will come baring a flaming sword to drive away the darkness. Whatever the case, it has allowed those who dwell in the night to conquer territory on the surface. Endhome stands on the brink of anarchy as doomsayers and sages alike try to sway the populace to their cause. There are three nearby towns. The close-knit community of Oakhurst has managed to hold strong, struggling to survive against the darkness that would swallow it. The town of Basalt Pass has been abandoned after Gnoll incursions and the survivors have fled to Endhome. To the west are the Bogart Bogs, the main thoroughfare through being the small town of Grimmstown. Going east there is the King's Road along the Gaelon River. Your search for work and efforts made to evade the law has you in contact with one known as Greazly. While you have not met the man himself, you have heard he has much to offer those seeking less than savory jobs. As an introduction, you are to meet with his lackey Wheatly to discuss an upcoming job. Yule is now over, it is a Holiday known as The Day of the Dead, with the New Year tomorrow. You were instructed to meet on the second pier of the Docks Ward to find out what work the criminal leader has to offer.The Party
Follow the normal Character Creation Information with the following changes: Alignment - Neutral or Evil only!Level - 2
Equipment - Starting (no level 2 equipment) BUT you get 1 Common magic item up to 150g, +1 Potion of Healing
Race - Any! I do not have any strong recommendations about character archetypes or things to avoid, as most will fit great into the setting. Just keep in mind you will want a proactive character that can fit in with the group.
