Open Lord Reverie Ilvastarr II
Female Mephistopheles Tiefling, Age 62, Divine Soul Sorcerer
The current Open Lord of Revelmoore is Open Lord Reverie Ilvastarr II (named after her ancestor Reverie Ilvastarr I, the first Open Lord of the city at its founding centuries ago), a severe tiefling woman that has held the office since the year 3518. “Lady Reverie”, as she is popularly known, is Chosen of Jamboor, granting her incredible magical capabilities and slowing the effects of aging to a standstill. Prior to her leading the efforts to oust the previous Open Lord, Dagult Ambermantle, Reverie was an apprentice and lover of the previous High Dragon of Revelmoore and an accomplished adventurer in her own right.
Although she is able to put on a convincing facade while holding court, Lady Reverie is known for her distaste for decorum and courtly manners. When it is appropriate, she enjoys dropping her noble airs and speaking roughly, as she did in her adventuring days.
High Dragon Solauvaire Oussndar
Male Dark Elf, Age 35, Transmutation Wizard
The current High Dragon (a fanciful Reveler title granted to the city’s resident Archmage) of Revelmoore is Solauvaire Oussndar. Exceptionally young for a drow, Solauvaire is also the youngest mage to ever hold the title of First Dragon, a fact that angers some Revelmoore’s senior spellcasters; however, Solauvaire’s prodigious mastery over magic, second only to Lady Reverie herself, is often enough to silence detractors.
Solauvaire lives alone in the Tower of the High Dragon, where he furthers his own study of magic, teaches apprentices, and converses with the spirits of previous High Dragons, all of whom are bound to the Fang of Aurinax that serves as Solauvaire’s badge of office. Solauvaire is in charge of activating the Walking Statues of Revelmoore should the city be in grave danger, and is also responsible for coordinating with Lady Reverie in dispatching adventurers to face similar threats.
Fomalhaut the Financier
Male Human, Age 226, Champion Fighter
Once known as ‘Fomalhaut the Ferocious’ and the ‘Old Wolf’, Fomalhaut made a fortune and carved out a reputation as an adventurer and philanderer. Today, an older and wiser Fomalhaut lives off of many sound investments and business ventures.
Although the years have been kind to him (particularly so thanks to his extending his own lifespan by way of magic), Fomalhaut has spent an increasing amount of time partaking in drink and debauchery following the passing of his wife. Despite his love for drink, Fomalhaut is still an influential citizen in Revelmoore, and his prodigious Girth hides considerable speed and honed adventuring reflexes.
Victoro Cassalanter
Male Half-Elf, Age 44, Conjuration Wizard
The current head of the once-destitute House Cassalanter, Victoro and his wife Amalia have reversed the fortunes of their family through careful and lucky investment and have attracted much attention in the wake of their recent surge of wealth. With coin comes influence, and the Cassalanters are regaining the power once owed to a founding house of Revelmoore; many suspect that Victoro aims for a masked lordship if he doesn’t already have one, or even for the throne of the Open Lord herself.
Victoro and Amalia have two living children; Elzerina and Tirenzio, age 8. Their firstborn son, Osvaldo, tragically perished during a maritime accident where he fell into the Legions bay and drowned.
Renaer Ambermantle
Male Human, Age 30, Fighter
The estranged son of the previous Open Lord, Dagult Ambermantle. Renaer distanced himself from his father after Dagult’s ousting and took up residence in his deceased mother’s estate, where he lives off of a generous inheritance and spends his time revelling with his friends.
Many citizens look upon Renaer with suspicion, as it is commonly believed that he assisted his father in all sorts of corrupt practices during his reign. Renaer denies all such accusations, and mostly keeps his nose out of noble politics.
Piece of the Puzzle
Male Tabaxi, Age 34, “Bard”
A “world renowned” tabaxi author and traveler, known for his many written guides and non-fictional accounts of locations and landmarks. A thoroughly well-traveled man, Puzzle’s curiosity gets him into trouble quite often, and his continued survival in spite of this is often regarded as a miracle.
Puzzle is something of a local celebrity in his home city of Revelmoore, even if his stories and accounts were half-truths at best. He is a regular customer of the Balladeer’s Eclipse, and he and the bar’s owner ‘go way back’. He is regarded as a fool by many of Revelmoore’s citizens, but a lovable fool nonetheless.
The Xanathar
Unknown
The mysterious leader of the Xanathar Guild. Few people outside of the guild itself (and indeed, even few within!) know the true identity of the Xanathar; indeed, it was commonly unknown if the Xanathar was male, female, somewhere in-between, or a single entity at all. All that was known was that the Xanathar held absolute power over the underground smuggler’s port of Ramrider’s Retreat, and exerted considerable influence over the city above through its criminal activities.
The Xanathar is considered public enemy number one by the city watch thanks to the many crimes and atrocities committed by the guild that acts in its name.
Remallia Haventree
Female High Elf, Age 213, Abjuration Wizard
The leading lady of House Ulbrinter following the death of her husband, Remallia Haventree is a renowned do-gooder who personally funds the efforts of adventuring parties that she deems worthy of her assistance. Many adventuring parties flock to her villa seeking funding, and almost all are rejected; she expects only the highest of ideals from those she aids.
It is speculated that Remallia is a high-ranking member of the Masquerade, given her public ideals align almost exactly with that of the shadowy organization of vigilantes and activists. However, as with most speculated guests of the Masquerade, this was not able to be proven.
Rydia Margaster, the Seer
Female Scourge Aasimar, Age 31, Celestial Warlock
The high priestess of the House of Wonder and a personal ally of High Dragon Solauvaire. Despite the fiendish roots of House Margaster, Rydia was born an aasimar bearing the holy symbol of Jamboor. At an early age she was blessed with the patronage of a celestial servant of the god of magic, which she used to lead others in worship.
Rydia is blind, but is able to see through applications of the spell truesight. She rarely teaches magic at the House of Wonders, instead concerning herself with spiritual matters and tending to those who would come to pay respects at the temple.
Jeryth Phaulkon
Genderless Wood Elf (Formerly), Age Unknown, Demipower
Once a mortal druid and ranger of great power and renown, Jeryth served as the founder of the Circle of the Old Faith. Exemplifying their connection to nature, Jeryth did not pass on from old age; instead, they faded away and ascended to a level of power similar to that of a demigod, having merged with nature itself.
Jeryth continues to lead the Old Faith from within the vast gardens of their family home of Phaulkonmere. Having shed their physical form, they now exist as a disembodied voice and presence throughout the villa, and offer magical aid to members of the Old Faith.
Arathir Starsong
Male Levistus Tiefling, Age 46, Swords Bard
The current owner and proprietor of the famous Balladeer’s Eclipse tavern, having inherited it from his adoptive dwarven mother Ozma. He is a widower and lost his wife to disease years ago, but lives with and operates the tavern with his daughter Anitari Starsong. He is a former adventurer who braved the depths of the Undermountain on multiple occasions and lived to tell the tale, and sees himself as something of a guardian of the ‘Eclipse’, the term used to refer to the hole in the center of his tavern. He often dissuades and even forcefully prevents inexperienced adventurers from throwing their lives away in the depths below.
Fanciful and a lover of a good time, Arathir enjoys speaking with his patrons and reveling in the air of a party. He does not, however, tolerate undue violence in his bar, and will forcibly remove overly rowdy guests. In the event of a monster escaping the Undermountain through the Eclipse, Arathir loudly and jovially leads the defense of the tavern alongside his more adventurous patrons.
As the owner of the city’s most popular tavern, Arathir is privy to a great deal of information and secrets. He does not share any information unduly, and respects the privacy of his guests.
