Cragmaw Castle
History
Before the fall of the Duke Augustus and the dissolution of the Duchy of Newmont, Cragmaw castle stood as a bastion of knights and soldiers that tamed the surrounding region. When his treason was discovered and the city of Yarestead lost to the abyss, the Duchy was dissolved and the five barons of the region pledged their loyalty to the overking directly. Order was restored. When the Overking led his armies against the Huun invasion of Bards Gate, most of the knights of Cragmaw castle rallied to his cause and went off to war. With evil rising in the region, the few remaining soldiers were unable to manage the keeps affairs and were forced to abandon it. Over the years since, skirmishes among its monstrous inhabitants, beasts and a lack of maintenance has caused it to fall into a ruin. With the siege lifted and trade routes being reinforced and re established across the old Coast Road, eyes are now set upon Cragmaw Keep with the intention of rooting out its current masters. It is currently inhabited by Goblins who are loyal to the forces of evil found in the nearby hills.Present Day
