"I made a promise... I am not dying in this forsaken place." - Reilly Springs
Renaer rejoined the party, having spent the night with Bonziel Ramrider in an impromptu bout of passion. He recalled their night together; while lying together after the act, Bonziel had cited hedonism as her coping mechanism in times of grief, and apologized for dragging Renaer into an emotionally confusing situation. Renaer assured her that he was fine, and that it was his first shot at romance where the end goal wasn't to impress his mother with his mate of choice. Bonziel recalled similar experiences with her mother, and the two bonded over their love of independence for a time before Renaer suddenly remembered that the party would be meeting up to discuss their next move.   Rejoining the party once more was Lackadaisical, who had been spending most of her time handling Troll Skull Manor's financial affairs in its first few weeks and taking on shady legal cases in her spare hours. Having grown in her magical powers, her presence was welcomed by her friends.   With Vincent's information on hand, the Red Spirits took stock of their supplies and equipment before making their way to the City of the Dead in the cover of night. Scaling the walls of the district was a simple task thanks to Róisín, and the party soon found themselves looking at the sea of driftglobes illuminating the large cemetery. The party stealthily dropped in and avoided the wandering undead as they searched for the Cassalanter family crypt.   Renaer glimpsed the Brandath family crypt, where his mother and her family were interred. He made note of it as they continued onward. Soon they found the resting place of House Cassalanter and warily entered after Reilly cracked the lock on the heavy stone doors.   As the party crept through the mausoleum's entrance, torches lit themselves as if to pave the way further to a staircase. Descending this stairway brought them to the crypt's deepest reaches; an elaborate two-floor dark cathedral to Asmodeus, overlooked by two balconies. Nearby was a set of prison cells, empty but clearly designed to hold people packed into tight quarters like mere cattle.   The party split in two, with Lackie, Yilani, and Reilly remaining on the balcony while Brooke, Eula, and Renaer descended the stairs. In a side-passage, the latter three discovered the oldest parts of the tomb abandoned to time. Within waited the ghost of Caladorn Cassalanter, a lord of the Cassalanter family from times past when the family was honorable and just. He begged for the party to redeem his house's honor, and bade them use his enchanted plate armor and mace of disruption to destroy the altar to Asmodeus.   With their preparations complete, the half of the party on the ground burst through the doors and attacked the Cassalanters and their cultist minions, with Eula leading the charge. Victoro Cassalanter briefly stopped her in her tracks with a spell of domination, but she was able to break free as the rest of the Red Spirits joined the fray.   In a show of infernal might, Lackie summoned a mighty tanarukk from the abyss to serve her. The request was an easy one; as a denizen of the abyss and a belligerent of the eternal Blood War, the tanarukk was ecstatic to fight against the forces of Baator in any capacity.   The party focused their efforts in keeping Victoro and Amalia separated, though the abundance of Asmodean cultists complicated this. Eventually, Amalia was backed into a corner and attempted to escape from her assailants by way of invisibility; she was pursued by Yilani and Brooke, with the latter managing to fatally stab her with his rapier. As she fell, Amalia's body was seized and dragged down into the earth by fiendish hands.   The death of his beloved drove Victoro into a burning rage. He immediately attempted to outright kill Reilly and disorient the others with a powerful divine word, but the party's resolve steeled them against the painful sounds of creation. Victoro then summoned Osvaldo, his and Amalia's eldest son whom had been turned into a chain devil by his parents' oaths to Asmodeus. Finally, after the Red Spirits fought back bravely against the turning tide, Victoro raised his rod of rulership and attempted to enthrall his opponents and subdue them.   Reilly, Yilani, and Brooke managed to overcome the rod's dominating presence, and Renaer was aided in doing the same by Reilly's encouragement. However, Eula and Lackie fell to Victoro's influence, and they turned against the party to protect their new master.   Eula quickly dispatched the rampaging Tanarukk, and then began to approach her companions with blade drawn. With the myriad cultists surrounding Reilly and Yilani, and all of the party beleaguered by the brutal fight, things began to look grim...

Portraits

The Red Spirits

Reilly Springs - A young, anxious satyr artificer and inventor, who has fashioned for herself a magic suit of armor that grants her impressive combat capabilities. Now free of the debt that hounded her, Reilly is committed to supporting her friends as she sets down roots in Revelmoore. She has taken to spending time with Fala Lefaliir, the serene gardener and proprietor of Aelbwynn’s Crown; a relationship now sealed with a kiss.
Brooke Acropora - A charming water genasi and a native of Revelmoore, who supports the party with his keen intuition concerning the fanciful and fascinating goings-on of the city. Brooke moonlights as a contributor to The Targe, a broadsheets publication that seeks out the most interesting and sauciest news scoops of the day. Currently, Brooke is focused on ensuring that Troll Skull Manor becomes an unforgettable spectacle to its visitors, but part of his mind continues to be occupied by his tryst with the mysterious Zelem Corvo.
Yilani Deniz - A severe, perceptive Yuan-ti Pureblood druid who once masqueraded as a human refugee from Khemit in order to gather information on the wealthy and powerful of Revelmoore on behalf of a Yuan-ti cult of Aapep. After coming to love the city and her new friends, Yilani has turned her back on her people and helped to drive them out of the city before their nefarious plans could be enacted. Having helped Raeziel retake her family's legacy, Yilani has joined the new Xanathar Guild as one of Raeziel's most trusted 'eyes'.
Eula Havenspire - A calm and collected azure-haired knight, who wields a blade with inhuman precision and swiftness. She is the wife of Megumi, though she currently suffers from amnesia and remembers nothing of her life before awaking in the Undermountain. The party rescued her from the Xanathar's Arena of Blood and Fortune, and after being told of Megumi's actions and sacrifice, Eula offered her blade in the pursuit for the lost gold of Dagult Ambermantle.
Lackadaisical - More commonly known as “Lackie”, this charming young tiefling woman is the daughter of the famed ex-adventurer Fomalhaut the Financier. She moonlights as a lawyer and represents members of less-than-legal enterprises in Revelmoore, including members of the Black Network. After taking a reprieve from adventuring to manage Troll Skull Manor's finances, she has rejoined the party to help them in the final stretch of their quest for the lost gold of Dagult Ambermantle.
Violet - A strange purple cat that was purchased by Brooke at the Old Xoblob Shop. For all intents and purposes, she seems to be a completely normal cat; save for the fact that her fur is a deep shade of violet. She told Brooke her story, revealing that she was once a human adventurer that was polymorphed into a purple cat by Halaster Blackcloak, the Mad Mage of the Undermountain. She appears to be more than happy with this situation.
Róisín - A homunculus created by Reilly out of a mechanical skeleton, an enchanted crystal, and plants grown from feywild seeds. Róisín resembles a winged rabbit composed of plant matter, and is unfailingly loyal to her creator.
Renaer Ambermantle - The estranged son of Dagult Ambermantle, the previous Open Lord of Revelmoore. A skilled fighter, an agent of the Masquerade, and a man of noble standing. Renaer faces scrutiny because of his father’s legacy, but still retains friends in high places. He has befriended the party and spends most of his time fraternizing with them. He was grievously wounded by a fireball aimed at a spy working for his father, but he managed to survive with only burn scars on his face, and has returned to the field with the rest of the party. He and Bonziel Ramrider shared a night together, leaving the two happy but unsure of the future.

Victoro Cassalanter - The Half-elven Lord of House Cassalanter, one of Revelmoore’s founding houses and most influential families. A well-known and respected citizen, he is a successful shipping magnate and investor, who turned the failing finances inherited from his father into success and riches in little over a decade. His public persona hides his true nature; that of a devotee to Asmodeus who sold the souls of his children for money and power. Out of regret spurred by watching their son Osvaldo turn into a chain devil, he and his wife Amalia have schemed for years to recover the lost gold of Dagult Ambermantle and buy back his children's souls. With the loss of Amalia, he has brought his full infernal fury to bear against the party.
Amalia Cassalanter - The human wife of Lord Victoro Cassalanter and the mother of their three children: Osvaldo, Elzerina and Tirenzio. Beloved among her peers as a generous philanthropist who regularly distributes food and clothing to the needy, she is also a respected lepidopterist that boasts a beautiful garden full of butterflies at her villa. Her kind and serene demeanor is but a trick however; her true nature is that of a priestess of Asmodeus who gave up that what was precious to her for gold and power. She was slain by Brooke in the temple of Asmodeus and was dragged into Baator, her soul claimed by her dark master for eternity.

Bonziel Ramrider - The middle Ramrider sister. A duergar bard, she was once a member of the Xanathar Guild, but felt little attachment to the organization beyond survival. After her encounters with the party and their efforts against the Xanathar Guild, she has decided to renounce the organization and play the part of a spy, joining the Masquerade under the tutelage of Renaer Ambermantle. After sharing a passionate night with Renaer to cope with the death of her sister Genziel, the nature of the relationship between the two is unclear.
The Stone of Golorr A greyish-green ovular stone, about six inches long from end to end, with three recesses running vertically down its length. It is covered in a thin layer of ever-present mucus. With its second eye restored, it is closer to unlocking its vast repositories of hidden knowledge, and has revealed the location of its third, red eye resting in the grasp of Victoro Cassalanter.
