22 - 06/23/25 : Party People

As the Book Club awoke in the morning, Adeline and Snow were surprised to see Eo Nee freely traversing the dorm, and were pleased to know Ezri decision about no longer keeping Eo in the lantern. While the party ate breakfast, they discussed their plans for today, remembering that they had multiple trials in store. However, they also had the party at Sleight, Nox, and Mary's dorm that night and, taking Ezri's suggestion, they opted not to mentally or physically exhaust themselves before hand. Adeline also noted that her trial would take them out of town to hunt down a monster in the marshes.   Instead, the party decided to spend their day studying with Arwyn and researching their various goals. Ezri focused her magic on the Void Card to try and locate the other cards in the Deck of Many things, and got closer to finding one but couldn't pinpoint it just yet. Snow read about dragon wars, starting with the first war between Bahamut and Tiamat. She was able to find some evidence of Gem Dragons having been involved in this war, acting as neutral mercenary forces. Adeline searched for info on the Court of Stars, and was able to narrow her search to find information on fey in Arborea.   The Book Club paused their academic pursuits to enjoy a bit more downtime with their classmates at the house party of Sleight, Nox, and Mary. After a brief stop to change their clothes, they arrived at their classmates' home. Nadya and Xiuying had already arrived, with spirits in hand. Zana and Lochlainn arrived soon after the party, along with their new roommate Eridred. The Book Club introduced themselves to Eridred, who was thankful to them for helping her grandmother. Eridred was a woman of few words, but seemed motivated to speak about her armor, which she had crafted herself. When asked what she came to Everlight for, Eridred expressed a desire to hone her forging abilities, and she and Snow spoke about smithing for a bit. Last to arrive was Caldaonar, or Cal for short. The party introduced themselves to the drow, before Mary rose to announce her true nature as a mimic. The gathered group of magical misfits took this news in stride, with Nadya and Xiuying even settling a bet on what kind of secret Mary had been hiding.   With the mood still high, Sleight invited the other students to join them in a game that their group had devised called Orb Ball. The game involved using the arcane properties of the Ley Orbs and Ley Rods Arwyn had created in a game similar to a tennis match. The balls would be infused with magic as the other players tried to use their own spells to send the ball flying back. The trio challenged the Book Club to the game first, and they found themselves quite skilled at the arcane sport, winning the match.   After the game, the students took more time to mingle. Snow talked some more with Cal, learning that he had draconic magic from a Deep Dragon bloodline and that he had left the Underdark in search of opportunity. Snow also volunteered the team's assistance if either of the new students needed help with their ley lines in the future. While he seemed to be interested in spending time with the party later, Snow noted that Cal spoke as if he wasn't staying in town for long. When questioned about this, Cal confirmed that he had things that he needed to do in the Underdark still and would likely need to return eventually.   As the party wound down, the students said their goodbyes to their classmates, but they had one more stop to make before turning in. The trio made their way to Cirella's hut, where Ezri asked again if she could send Poe to send a letter to her parents. Cirella agreed without hesitation and also reminded her that Arwyn had approved sending Scrolls of Recall with them, so they could visit Fortune's Crossing. Ezri accepted this offer and gave Poe the letter, scrolls, and directions to reach her family. The letter itself was a message to her parents, informing them of what really happened during her time with Deumion and what she's gone through since then, as well as some wellwishes to her parents, whom she hadn't seen in several years now. With the letter sent off, the party returned to their home for the night.
