11 - 6/11
After most of the camp had retired for the night, the group spent a bit of time discussing amongst themselves the best course of action. Knowing that this "Scarvinious" was planning to assault the abandoned Vraath Keep that reportedly had friendly forces in it, everyone agreed that it would be best to intervene as quickly as possible.
The Krolish leader Novak was convinced to consider switching sides should they capture Vraath Keep, from this fortified position he felt they actually had a chance of independence from the Hobgoblins. Unfortunately he wasn't willing to intervene until that was accomplished, but he would at least release the party outside of the camp while he escorted Malmiir back to retrieve his people.
With Camp White Hand behind them, the group set off into the wilderness in search of this forgotten castle. Along the way the wind began to rise, and a mysterious individual hailed the party. He claimed to have lost his son whom had a white cape and only 4 fingers and was searching for him, but the party sensed foul play afoot and gave him a wide birth. Not too long later, another unnatural blizzard roared through the region catching the group completely off guard. One oddity of the sudden change in weather was that it was electrically charged, and the group quickly sought out cover. Hildas Snow Elf nature seemed to let her handle the intense snow far better than the others and she guided them towards a nearby cave. Outside the group was assaulted by a group of Ice Mephits, but they were easily dispatched by the group but not before one exploded and killed Thetas undead horse Prancer.
The cave was bigger than it looked from the outside, and the group sought shelter in the interior. The entry corridor was slick with ice but the group managed to keep their footing, thankfully for a puddle of loose water with thin ice on top lay at the bottom. The cave had no natural sources of light so the group lit a torch, and sent a spell at one of the stalactites just encase. From the next room a Yeti roared at the intrusion into its lair, and it attacked! With a large amount of crowd control at their fingertips, the group slowed the Yeti down and beat it into submission before Honey got the final blow. Hilda began to skin it, and the rest of the group continued exploring the cave.
The next cavern had a few old Bear Traps on the ground, but Shanes quick reaction let her evade them. Theta took this time to go back and reanimate his horse, while Hilda worked on the Yet. Shane and Honey poked at the ground looking for more traps, but while her eyes were on the ground Shane walked right into a spiders web! A strange creature called a Cave Fisher trapped and nearly killed Shane, but with quick reactions by Theta he and his dead horse rushed to the rescue and managed to usher her to safety. With the full group gathered, the weird spider proved a less difficult foe and they managed to dispatch it after a fierce fight. The spider had alcoholic blood and its carapace and meat would be highly valued.
With the cave secure, in the corner of the room the party noticed one last thing. A skeleton and a white, magical cloak
