07 - 5/7

With the hold secure, the group gathered to discuss the plans going forward. Everyone decided the best course of action was to hunker down in the ruins for awhile, make it livable and gather supplies. Eventually the town could be rebuilt or the group could resettle elsewhere, but for the time-being the safety and warmth the old dwarven hold provided was invaluable. A blizzard was incoming, and once it passed a group would be sent out in search of other survivors and goods. The old sawmill seemed like a good option, and after a vote it was decided Shane would be put in charge of forming the team. Aubrin and others speculated that perhaps villagers may have fled there, and even if not it could prove a valuable source of material and equipment.   Theta took a few lessons in Dwarven and managed to understand the strange tablet. It contained a cantrip called “Voltwire” and contained a strange magical energy that allowed him to learn it without sacrificing the ability to cast one of his other cantrips.   Valerie took to the forge with many of the other members requesting goods, weapons and armor. It took some time to get it organized, but eventually she settled in and put her belongings around the area. The strangely friendly elemental Burnie helped her with the tempering, and her kobold companions and Johann decided to also aid her.   The rest of the villagers set about their own tasks. Treya was going to do a short day-trip north, then wait out the storm and for Valerie to make her a suit of armor and weapons before heading out to scout the Hobgoblins positions. Nysany set about cleaning the place up with the Children, though they complained at length about the task   The kobolds were a bit unsure of what they were supposed to do, as their natural instincts did not permit them to sit idly. They seemed to view her as the leader, and Valerie sent them out in search of loot much to their joy   Shane and Honey departed to see if they could hunt any animals before the storm hit, and after some scouting around managed to track down a deer. The pair has completely surprised it and easily took it down, which would provide a useful pelt and much meat for the struggling survivors. On the way back, however, the pair found a very strange sight marching through their camp. An enormous rock creature with a scrawny dragonborn on its back was moving through the ruins. He stopped and appeared to be looking for the kobolds   Eventually a meeting was done, and he turned out to be harmless. He claimed to be cursed to roam the lands, every time he was killed he would be brought back. He could wield no weapon nor leave the Vale, and turned to trading in an effort to do something. His rock companion Gorian started off as a pebble and just kept growing, and became his muscle to stop those from taking his wears. He had some unique items, and the group traded with him and got some much needed supplies.
