07 - 02/28 : Ghostbuster

As the party finished their conflict with the sleeping Sahuagin, Yunaleth received a Sending from Zelem informing her that he had sent additional aid and to meet up with her. The party met back on the beach, reconvening with Lady and meeting their new ally, Naomi O’Galvin. They explained the situation to the newcomers and continued their exploration of the temple.   The party investigated the kelp garden and the large oysters laying throughout the field, but found no pearls within. They quickly dispatched a single kelp farmer who attacked them on sight. They then proceeded into a room full of pearls that were either broken or of poor quality and fought a sahuagin and his sharks who seemed prepared for combat. After finishing them off, Chesterfield found several pearls that were in good enough condition to sell for some extra money, while Yunaleth located a Pearl of Power and two glowing blue pearls with transmutation magic. She was also able to confirm that the natural vent connected to this room was a font of elemental power that the sahuagin were using to enchant the pearls. In the final chamber, several sahuagin and a hunter shark attacked, but the party triumphed and investigated the chamber.   They found that the altar had seen use before, but not for some time, and found some ceremonial weapons and another glowing blue pearl. At the end of the hall was a sea monster statue that was different from the others, having two divots in the eyes that could fit the glowing pearls that the party had found and opened a secret passage. Inside they found what looked to be a merrow lair, a pile of treasures taken from shipwrecks and decorated in decaying corpses. The statues in this chamber summoned the merrow, but the party was able to act quickly enough to take out both monsters with little room for retaliation. They gathered up the large piles of gold and magic items and proceeded into a stairwell that led to an air pocket where they could rest.   At the end of the stairs, the party found a circular chamber of ankle deep water, with giant leviathan statues along the walls surrounding a stone with aquan runes carved into it. As the party investigated, a voice accused them of being Besmarans here to ruin his work one more time. The ghost of Scarvosa and his crew appeared and attacked the party without mercy. Scarvosa’s combat prowess and the leviathan magic channeled through the runestone proved to be a challenge for the party, but eventually they were able to defeat their ephemeral foe. Draltha destroyed the runestone and the party made their way back to the surface to return to Fortune’s Crossing.
