03 - 4/9

In the morning breakfast was served and the band of survivors set off towards the rangers redoubt. The valley proved relatively safe and easy to traverse compared to the winter months, and with Shanes expert navigating skills the group found their way to the other side. From here the group continued along the edge of The Snowdrift Hills, looking for the tunnel leading up. Eventually tracks leading up were found and it led right to the tunnel, the group deducing that most likely these were Treyas and she had already been here and out. The tunnel led up to a series of switchbacks on the side of the hill, and because of the recent thaw had led to ice on the trail. Theta sprinkled some sand on the dangerous spots, and with the additional traction the group made their way to the redoubt The redoubt proved to be a safe location overlooking the lake as well as providing a view of the White Wolf Timberland, and inside supplies and maps were obtained. Treya had left a note saying she planned to travel to the Ruins of Whiteridge and the group decided that pursuing her was a good plan   Food and shelter obtained, the group also copied the notes for all of the locations detailed by the maps. A ruined keep lie closer to Helgafel, a clan of orcs were near the Dragon Teeth Mountains, a cave system could provide food and shelter, a saw mill lie on the arctic run and the ruins of whiteridge lie close to the Famrial Tips. With some locations noted, everyone settled in for the night and departed in the morning   The route down proved even more dangerous as fresh snow coated the ice patches. Everyone strung a rope between them, and despite a few slips the rope held fast and the group safely made it down. Shane found some more tracks across the Snowdrift Flatlands and guessed they belonged to either a Dire or Winterwolf. This could prove disastrous if fought inside their own hunting grounds, so the party gave a wide berth around the area and continued onwards. With the location marked and landmarks noted, the Wardens outpost was found. On the way hobgoblin and human tracks were found, but who was tracking who was unknown.   Finally the Wardens outpost was in sight, and inside Horrace and Hugh were taking refuge. Treya and Glin had continued “hunting” up the trail in an effort to catch the Hobgoblins. The group decided to split, with Aubrin and Malmiir protecting the rest at the rangers cabin while the rest continued up the trail. After rounding a bend, a dead hobgoblin was spotted in the trail with signs others had ran off to the left. The group ran down only to find another with an arrow and bolt lodged in him, and coming out of a thicket was Treya and Glin. Surprised but happy to see them, the third had slid down the hill. A volley was launched in an effort to stop them before they slipped into the trees, and Glins bolt found its mark felling the captain.   Thetas new feline flying friend Epsilon discovered that on his corpse was a note addressed to what the group presumed to be a tribe of Kobolds. The missive pleaded with the “children of the dragon” to throw off the shackles of their false master and accept the gift of the dragon, serving the warlord Azarr Kul and Glacierwing. Deciding this a bad thing, the group decided to continue onwards to the Ruins and find what lie there
