03 - 01/03 : Chairsmasher

As the party awoke in the morning, they were greeted by Sendra, who offered to have extra help accompany the party, should they feel they need it. She also urged the party to keep Rofferton alive, in case he knew something about the cult that they suspected he was working with. But first, Draltha needed to pick up some ranged weaponry from the Frozen Hammer, a smithy operated by Erias Frostbrand and his business partner, Lyn. After that, the party picked up some potions and met their new ally, the fire-footed sorcerer, Fintan. The party arrived at Rofferton’s Ravishing Raiments, which appeared to be empty and locked. The party split up and entered through the front and back doors. Fintan was able to pick the front door, while Chesterfield had some difficulties with their lockpick, leaving Draltha to brute force her way through two sets of doors. As she attempted to break a third, the door retaliated back, as the entire building seemed to come to life, and the party was attacked by animated objects from all corners of the store.   As they defeated the first floor’s worth of magically animated furniture, they took a moment to catch their breath before heading upstairs. As they did and Draltha attempted to attack another door, it and the piano and chairs of the upper floor attacked. Finally, on the third floor, the party was able to get the drop on the animated bed that seemed to be holding Rofferton captive, as he finally woke up. Draltha intimidated him into staying put as the party dispatched the pile of gold that had also animated.   With the last of the living objects taken care of, the party took to investigating the building. Draltha stayed behind to keep an eye on Rofferton, while the rest of her party found pieces of evidence tying Rofferton to the cult of Hecate and some treasures for their own use. Fintan took the gnome to the guard with evidence in hand and left the party, who made their way to Corvo Manor to debrief. Zelem was able to confirm that he was using the cult’s magic to create items beyond his capabilities, but it seemed that the head priestess's death caused the magic to turn against him, animating the furniture in his house to hold him captive.   Zelem congratulated the party on a task well done, and presented them with their next tasks. The first task was to clear out an old mine to the west of town that had been abandoned due to a string of disappearances after an earthquake. The second task was to look into a supposedly haunted island that the sailors in town were avoiding. Zelem believed these rumors to be unfounded and asked the group to find proof. He informed the party that these tasks were not time sensitive, encouraging the group to take some time to rest, and especially not to leave on Zorsday, believing it to be bad luck.
