02 - 11/28/22 : Wordless Voices
Something swam through the jungles
Where the mighty rivers roamt
Something breaks the silence
When the water takes you homet
I hear, hear the wordless voices
When the water takes me home
When the water takes me home

After receiving their mission orders, the group of agents working for Dagult Ambermantle went to the location that they were directed, and there they discovered an entrance to a series of subterranean caves. Within the dark caves, the party came across dimly lit pools of water and fought through a few sahuagin, recovering some interesting baubles; a pressure capsule as well as a Slumbering Dragon-Touched Focus, both of which were claimed by Stikx. Further in, the party encountered a deep water-filled ravine above which was stranded a decrepit galleon, which was broken in half. They also discovered a petrified elven adventurer, who they resolved to come back for after their task was complete. The ship served as a makeshift bridge, allowing the party to approach the Sahuagin that guarded the temple just beyond them. With their combined might, the party struck down the sahuagin and recovered more peculiar items; in particular, a one-use wand of petrification, as well as a topaz chromatic rose. Inside the temple, the group arrived just in time for five sahuagin priestess to commit ritualistic suicide in order to summon a wastrilith; a malevolent demon of the abyss that thrived in watery environments. The wastrilith summoned an orb of sickening, corrupted water and utilized spouts of water to grasp and pull members of the party into it, causing great harm. However, the adventurers serving Dagult were able to overcome the tanar'ri and strike it down. Left behind by the head priestess was a single spell gem, a bloodstone containing the spell revivify. In the central room of the temple, the party found a fountain surrounded by several blue flames, as well as a lone remaining sahuagin priestess. They interrogated the priestess and discovered that the water likely had something to do with protecting one from the afflictions caused by being near aboleths. Satisfied, Uriel executed the priestess and captured a vial of the fountain's water, which caused one of the five flames to go out. Seeing this, the party decided it was best to gather only one vial for now, and to let Dagult decide how best to proceed. Upon returning to Ambermantle manor, Dagult accepted the fountain's magical water, and told the party that it was a crucial ingredient in an elixir that was being brewed for him; this elixir would stave off the detrimental effects caused by his interfacing with the Stone of Golorr, an abolethic artifact, and would thus prevent his untimely death. Satisfied with their progress, the party turned to the future, eager for their next assignment...
