Priestess Xyressa
Centuries ago, Xyressa was born into the Mal Vrammyr royal family. For a single century, she resided in the city of Mal Vrammyr, where she was trained in the arts of poison, death, and politics. Upon seizing the title of Monarch, Xyressa’s aunt was quick to remove her younger sister’s children from the political picture. Her first attempt was a series of arranged marriages, but once foiled, the new monarch turned to assassination. Xyressa alone escaped the onslaught, fleeing alone to the north and eventually to Mal Korvian. The young Xyressa could have bartered for safety and security with the secrets she held of Mal Vrammyr, but she refused to be at the whims of another noble or royal family. Instead, Xyressa joined the Temple of Malachor and quickly rose through the ranks of the Pale Robes. Now, as a powerful priestess of Malachor, Xyressa plays nice with Mal Vrammyr… but she’s always looking for an excuse to wound and maim them.
Ultimately, as a priestess of Malachor, Xyressa holds no loyalty to any royal house. She is only loyal to the pursuit of the knowledge and information one can acquire from their corpses. Under most circumstances, the best royal is a dead one, but every now and then… she can be convinced that some royals are temporarily more valuable alive. When not observing royal squabbles, Xyressa handles various important duties within the Temple, including managing the archives and overseeing burials. Beneath her white robes, almost every inch of her body has been tattooed with skeletal imagery. While her primarily religious devotion is to Malachor, Xyressa openly worships Tamasvi (for vengeance against her family) and makes offerings to Eresh so that her small, personal garden – filled with all manner of poisonous things – will be bountiful.
