Count Tenebris Von Umbra
Among the vassal families of Mal Kerrym, none have remained as steadfastly loyal as the Von Umbra family. The current patriarch of the family, Tenebris, spent much of his younger years smithing weapons and armor for the royal family and for many other vassals. In his middle centuries, he now mostly deals with management and politics. While he may be in the forge less, Tenebris holds the most coveted position for all Earthen Drow smiths: the Obsidian Forge. It is Tenebris alone who holds the honor of forging signature Obsidian armor for the Obsidian Company in the largest obsidian-compatible forge. A man of craft and action rather than words, Tenebris prefers to take a stoic approach to political matters rather than stringing together tempting lies.
While Tenebris’ loyalty to Mal Kerrym has certainly been rewarded, rumors echoing on the stone suggest that his loyalty might be the shakiest it has ever been. The Count and his wife have 2 children. Despite ample promises, his daughter has been denied a position in Mal Kerrym’s architectural inner circle for nearly a century. The greater slight, however, was dealt to Tenebris’ son, who was properly courting one of Prince Nala’s sons. During negotiations with Tor Valoris and the Cavalries, Tenebris’ son was wrongfully put on the list of candidates. Tenebris has not seen his son since the visiting Tor Khanna took him and two others back to the Blood-Soaked Plains. Tenebris has thrown himself into his work in response while his wife has remained truly, loudly livid. Beneath the stoic shell, is a wounded man who simply needs a little push.
