Chase
Chase is a Human kid I met early on in my, ahem... career. He was seventeen at the time, and tried to pickpocket me near Tidecaller Monument, but I caught him before he could pilfer anything. It turned out he was quick, and he didn't expect me to be able to keep up, but I managed to corner him in one of the alleyways. I talked to him. It turned out he wasn't affiliated with any of the local gangs, and he seemed extremely uncomfortable with the idea of entering the Inner City, though he wouldn't reveal why. He begged me not to turn him in, which I wasn't going to do anyway, I was just curious who the clumsy pickpocket was! I ended up convincing him to run some errands for me; paid him, and then convinced Tord to give him a chance as a runner.
He did well; the lad was fast and agile on his feet, and super reliable. Eventually, Tord and I managed to get him set up as an official Runner, using one of Ruger's smaller properties as a base. He's nineteen now, and actually doing pretty well for himself, with Ruger and Tord helping him set up collection points all across the Outer City. He runs a lot of Outer City messages for the Mercenary Guild thanks to Ruger, but he still refuses to go into the Inner City and won't, or perhaps can't, explain why.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Chase's heterochromatic eyes are quite distinctive, and he has a large scar across his chest.
Apparel & Accessories
He tends to wear loose, comfortable clothes that he can easily run in.
He also has a circular disk pendant made of brass engraved with 27-01-1238, which he believes is his birthday.
Mental characteristics
Education
From what I can gather, Chase has at least a basic education. He can read and write fluently in Common, and has a basic grasp of Elvish. Additionally, he's reasonably good at intermediate maths. However, I don't know how or where he got this knowledge, and he can't seem to recall either.
Employment
Chase is a freelance Runner, assisted by Ruger and Tord.
Mental Trauma
He is terrified of going into the Central City, but won't say why. A part of me wonders if he even knows the reason for his fear; there's so much about himself that he can't seem to remember.
Additionally, Chase remembers nothing about himself or his family. He remembers waking up on the streets of the Outer City around twelve years ago, having a bunch of skills but no idea of who he was or where he came from. The only thing he had that could have helped identify him was his pendant, but that apparently led nowhere.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Chase does a lot of delivery work for the Mercenary Guild in the Outer City, and has some freelance agreements with merchants and crafters there as well.
Family Ties
He doesn't have any family that he can remember. Chase isn't even his real name, but he can't remember any other name than Chase, which is the nickname he was given on the streets because of his quick feet.
Social Aptitude
Chase is quite personable, if a little shy, and he's always happy to help others. He's always been especially sweet to me, though I know he still finds me intimidating. Generally he's fairly quiet and polite, but he's also a good listener, very empathetic, and has an exceptional memory (unless it's about his own personal history), so he is always great to talk to.
