Elder Willem Harrow
Minister of Trade, Grain Merchant, Reluctant Powerbroker
I speak for the bread. You want a poem, go talk to a Vexmoor.
Overview
Minister Willem Harrow didn’t seek office—he just kept showing up with the ledgers, the receipts, and the curses that could out-shout any noble. A massive man with a belly built on pastries and a temper built on late shipments, Harrow now serves as Leilon’s Minister of Trade, focused almost exclusively on grain, food, and practical logistics.
He’s not elegant. He’s effective.
A merchant, a pragmatist, and a survivor, Harrow thinks in copper, speaks in curses, and wields bread rolls like bribes.
Presence & Personality
- Gruff, loud, and deeply practical
- Reveres bakers, brewers, and teamsters—despises red tape
- Often bribed with pastries. Shameless about it.
- Tolerates smugglers only when food security is at stake
- Not technically an “elder”… and some folks won’t let him forget it
Why does everyone call him Elder? He introduces himself that way. You can't just name yourself that. He’s young! Even for a human. I’m older than his bakery district and I don’t go around making up titles—except that one time, but it was for marketing.
Public Image
- Viewed by commoners as their voice in the council, albeit a sticky-fingered one
- Despised by Lord Vexmoor for his "corn-fed populism"
- Worships the kitchen of the Stag & Scepter like it’s a temple
- Keeps a ledger of grain ratios and muffin textures with equal reverence
Player Hooks
- Can grant influence, rations, or favors for players who help stabilize food lines
- Might bend rules to preserve food supply or protect the bakery district
- Sees law as “suggestions” when trade is on the line
- Has shaky morals but impeccable flour math
