Dream 1 - Failure

Show Spoiler
Your cart floats. Not rolls—floats—through the streets of Leilon, now drowned. Rain falls sideways. Shoppers scream without mouths. Every coin you earned melts into teeth. You look down to find your hands waterlogged and wrinkled, as if you’ve drowned long ago. Something swims behind your eyes. You wake with the taste of copper and brine on your tongue, and your heart pounding like it’s late for a deal.

Dream 2 - Failure

Show Spoiler
The market is alive again. Lanterns glow, coins clink, buyers haggle in cheerful chaos. Your cart overflows with goods — silk, spices, ledgers heavy with profit. For a moment, you feel the pride of a life well-built. Then, rain begins. Soft at first, then relentless. The lanterns drown in it. Shoppers blur into shadows. Every coin in your purse drips into your hands, melting into teeth. The cart’s wheels sink, then vanish, as if the street itself has become an ocean. Your reflection stares back from the water — older, tired, carrying a weight you cannot name.

The coins in your hand melt into pearls, smooth and perfect. The rain stills. The market steadies. Shadows become customers again, smiling, bowing. Your cart is whole, your ledgers full. And in the reflection of the water, your parents’ faces smile proudly back at you. “You’ve built this,” a voice whispers. “You’ve earned this. Keep it. It will never be taken from you.” For the first time, the market feels safe. But then, across the water’s surface, an immense eye opens. A dragon’s eye. It watches, curious, before fading into shadow. A soft laugh follows, like a fey merchant amused at a deal too easily struck. Then silence.
