Scholars in academia seek to study the broader aspects of the world within an environment or community dedicated to the pursuit of research, education, and scholarship. This is achieved through studying 11 core aspects of education that date back to the early days of the Age of Light and have continued as pillars of academia for over 25,000 years.

Career

Qualifications

Long and Distinguished Service as Professor: The typical Master would have served for decades as a professor, and was known for their profound contributions to their particular field during that time.

Exceptional Scholarship: A body of work that has been produced by the individual that has profoundly shaped or advanced their fie.d.

Proven Leadership and Administrative Accomplishment: Demonstrated an ability to help lead the Citadel, guide diverse projects, and navigate the political landscape of the Citadel.

Election by Peers: When a Master Scholar either dies or steps down, a replacement is chosen amongst the senior faculty of his or her field by the Grand Conclave of the Citadel.

The Inferior Faculty

Level(s): Initiate

Curriculum: Students begin here to gain the foundational education necessary for entry into "higher" faculties. This is split into two groups

Basics - Initiates

Subjects (Trivium and Quadrivium)

  • Grammar - Mastery of Latin language and literature
  • Rhetoric - The art of persuasive speaking and writing
  • Logic - The art of correct reasoning and argumentation

The Four Superior (Professional) Faculties

Level(s): Scholar

Curriculum: After completing their initial studies, students are eligible to enroll in one of the four faculties as Scholars.

License to Teach

Level(s): Professor

Scholars who have completed their studies can then gain the credentials to join the faculty of any academic institution that recognizes their university. These credentials required one to be a top student and to have the recommendation of at least half of their faculty. Different institutions have different levels of being a Professor, but the most common are:

  1. Adjunct
  2. Assistant
  3. Associate
  4. Professor

Dean / Mastery

This is the title originally given to the 11 scholars of the citadel who had completed their study and mastery of one of the 11 fundamental aspects studied by the Citadel. They would oversee the academic operations for the subject they had achieved mastery over.


Provost

This is the top position at an academic institution granted to the faculty member who oversees all operations.

Head of a School/Faculty: Direct oversight of all academic activities, research, and personnel within their specific field.

Strategic Direction: Determines the overarching research agenda and priorities for their School

Grand Conclave Member: Participates in the highest government body of the Citadel, advising the Provost on all major decision.s

Custodian of Ancient Knowledge: They often become the top authority and guardian of the most sensitive or powerful knowledge within their domain.

Inter-School Collaboration: Facilitates and encourages research across different disciplines.
