Fall of the Moonlit Watch
Summary
After the Dreamstrider lost his way and the land of dreams was transformed into the Wailing Woods that we know today, those few knights still loyal to the ideals that their cursed Lord once inspired took up an impossible task. They set out into the wood to purify the soul of their Lord and free him from the chaos twisting his heart. Their sacrifice is what keeps those who wield the dark fire from succumbing to the Nightmare's curse.
Historical Basis
The entire Moonlit Watch did in fact disappear right after the Fall of Shadow, but their quest has never been verified. As recently as the founding of Dawnbreak, werewolves with the iconic silver fur of those sworn to that ancient order have been spotted in the Ashlands. So far, none of them have directly confirmed their membership, nor have they mentioned the fates of their brethren.
