Writer's Ramble - June 2025

So...

I kicked off the Threadweaver's Handbook against the 5.2 SRD—basically your PHB for The Last Home—and somehow it already smells faintly of coffee and existential dread. I wrapped up the Magical Girl class by adding The Starcaptor and The Starnova , so your sparkle quotient is off the charts.

I published the first two chapters of my very first light novel, Volume 1: That Time Rika Unleashed the Kraken and Destroyed a Coastline , and yes, it’s as gloriously chaotic as it sounds. What began as a single Magical Girl event has mutated into a full-blown starter adventure, so now I’ve got to finish that and draft a fresh Event—because why have one near-disaster when you can have two?

My sleep pattern? Non-existent. For some unknown reason, my golden hour is 4:30 am—I’ll wake, stare at the ceiling, and think, “Might as well write.” There are no deadlines here, only stolen lamplight escapes and spontaneous inspiration.

I’ve got half a dozen projects bubbling on the back burner—handbooks, adventures, Fey Wilds Notes sketches—because variety keeps me from going completely mad.

My fan is battling 28 °C in the garden like a war hero, but I’m still draped over my desk. Britain, why do we not have air-con?

Current Status

  • Sprained my ankle in my sleep—your guess is as good as mine.
  • Tired. Wired. Utterly caffeinated. (When am I not?)
  • Head full of too many ideas—excited about the light novel and every other half-baked scheme.
  • Mood: Confused but happy, all over the place emotionally yet carrying on regardless—like only an Englishman can.

The last week of May was less productive because life did what it always does—plans dissolved under unexpected stress and everyone wants something while I’m mid-sentence. But even with that, this place is starting to feel like something real. And that means a lot.

So What’s Next?

  • Threadweavers’ Handbook: more last home twists on the rules, both in mechanics and style.
  • Starter Adventure: Finish the Magical Girl adventure mutation, then conjure up another Event outbreak.
  • Light Novel: write up chapters three and four of Rika’s Kraken-wrecker saga.
  • Fey Wilds Notes: work on the “Mouse and the Crown” lore when I dare switch gears.

Thank You As Always!

Thank you (seriously) for sticking with me through handbook chaos, star-powered squabbles, kraken rampages, ankle mishaps and relentless sun. If you’ve left comments, sent cooling memes or just hit like in solidarity—I see you, and I appreciate you more than my frazzled fan appreciates a steady breeze.

Please feel free to ask questions.
Please drop messages.
Here’s to a less overheated—and more over-achieving—June.
