These are black iron rectangles etched in them is the New Talivera insignia in the top left corner.
History
When New Talivera had been established, The Drakon didn't want to associate with the outside countries. He had slowly initiated New Taliverian currency, the first of those were Plates. Currency in New Talivera cannot be converted into other currencies, there just isn't a conversion.
