Umbra

Known as the Collector of the Fallen, Umbra is the last deity revealed to Hiram, the young orc would end up founding Hiram Shamanism. Ironically, this deity of the dead is the one history knows the most of, as he was once a living mortal, and none other than Hiram's most trusted friend.   Umbra was a troll sage and witch doctor, who had taken the young orc Hiram under his wing following the destruction of Hiram's home during the after-effects of the Sundering. Wise beyond his years, Umbra was a powerful sorcerer, particularly in the darkest of arts, and yet never sought to use them for conquest.   During one of their wanderings, as they attempted to find a land of for the displaced goblins, orcs and trolls, Hiram and Umbra came to an oasis in a vast desert. In the water was a great monster, some say one of the tentacled beasts from the Sundering. Together the two friends slew it, and watched as its black blood corrupted the water. However, Umbra had been mortally wounded in the fight.   Using his magic, Umbra bound his flowing blood and the corrupted water together, in an attempt to heal himself. What happened was Umbra and the oasis begun sinking into the sand. Hiram barely escaped with his life. Many years later, as Hiram grew old, he returned to the site of the oasis with his acolytes. There appeared Umbra in his new, dark form. Umbra informed Hiram that he was no longer what he was, and would aid all who asked him, and that without him, the new orcish nations would grow weak. He would ensure they remained strong.   Hiram thanked his old friend, and asked if Umbra could help with his aging and infirmities. Umbra merely nodded and sent Hiram on his way. That night Hiram died peacefully in his sleep.   And thus was born a god of the dead.
