Tenusian Church
The Tenusian Church, often referred to simply as the "The Church" has existed since before the Sundering, though the events of that time did change it significantly.
Founded in the city of Tenus on Ethnos, the Tenusian Church began as a sect of humans who broke off from the old ways to worship their own god of order and justice. This god, known as Yiost, would afford those who helped others an amazing afterlife, and heretics would burn in the hells. It also condemned the use of magic outside that of the clerics.
Post-Sundering, the Church and Tenus survived. In a chaotic time they helped kingdoms maintain control, and gave an answer the people wanted: blame magic. Over time the Church has taken root in almost every human country, maintaining order and control.
