Dragon
Considered one of the oldest races in the world, dragons are a fearsome and wonderful race full of magic, legends and history. Dragons are an uncommon sight in the world of Arrakos, but by no measure impossible. Often hunted, feared and sometimes worshipped, dragons fill many a bards tales with their ferocity, flight, size, power, magic, fire-breathing and terribly cunning intelligence.
However, dragons are not born with those great powers. Dragons take a long time to mature, and for the first five hundred years of their life, dragons are little more than creatures of instinct, being able to contact other dragons telepathically. Over the following centuries, if a dragon manages to socialise they may learn new languages and ideas, and even magic spells to amplify their already powerful magics.
Dragons who live long enough may learn to adopt the shape of lesser creatures, to hide in plain sight and explore the world. And seeing as how dragons do not die from old age, many may be hiding in such forms.
