The Flameheart

This extinct volcano was once the site of the Phoenix capital. Before the phoenixes fell, it was filled with liquid fire and lit the region, even on the darkest nights. Now, it is a beacon of darkness, the heart from which all shadowspawn spill forth.

Geography

The Flameheart stands alone, a single peak in a vast sea of shadow. In earlier days, it was surrounded by a ring of lesser mountains, with a raised plateau between them, but was all consumed by the darkness. The Flameheart as it is today has long ago lost its glow, and stands as a dark shard in a dark world, earning it the new name of Shadowspire, or, by some people, the Dark Lord's Lair. Its vast size means that it is visible from all of the mortal lands.
