Adam Weekes

Lieutenant Adam Benjamin Weekes (a.k.a. Ju Ir’ock “The Watchdog”)

Lt. Adam Weekes was a Human Alliance sniper during the Galactic War. He amassed 506 confirmed kills from 2261 to 2265 with many more “probables”, making him the deadliest sniper of the war and the second deadliest sniper in history.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Adam Weekes was born on December 3rd 2240 to Andrew and Shayna Weekes at their farm in Llanuras county on the planet New Mendoza. Only a few years into the colonization process New Mendoza lacked the advanced technology and infrastructure of other Federation planets. Life there could be harsh as the New Mendozans were largely left to their own devices at the edge of civilized space. The youngest of 3, Weekes spent his formative years in the Mendozan countryside. He learned to hunt at a young age, and by the time he reached adulthood he was a skilled marksman. Shayna Weekes, Adams mother, grew up on Jeven VI before immigrating to the Federation. She taught all of her children how to speak fluently in Kay. When the Galactic War broke out on January 1st in 2258 Adam had just recently turned 18. When he was drafted two years later he volunteered for the Army Rangers and sniper school. He would not return to New Mendoza until the end of the war.

Education

Weekes would complete his Army Ranger training between December of 2260 and May of 2261 at Fort. Carrier on Macy’s Planet. He would graduate from the sniper course in August of 2261 at Fort. Decadent. After his deployment at Chaffron Weekes would take part in the first CEC program on New Terra graduating in July 2263.

Employment

Weekes’ first deployment with the Rangers would be in the 3rd Platoon of Dagger Company at the invasion of Chaffron. He’d amass 97 confirmed kills by the end of the invasion.   After Chaffron Weekes would be selected as a candidate for the CEC program. After completing his training he’d be assigned to Omega Squad for Operation Broken Trident. He’d serve with O-Squad for the remainder of the war.   After the war Weekes would return briefly to New Mendoza and find work hunting Flora Elk native to the planet.   This wouldn't last long however as after only a few months back home he would accept a position as an operator for the Special Activities Center of the FIA. Weekes would be assigned to Task Force 45 and preform an unspecified number of targeted killings for Operation Floodlight. It is believed that many of Weekes' missions assisted in the FIA's Exigency Program to further destabilize and eventually destroy the Kaylone Empire. Weekes' final operation with the SAC would be the assassination of Javos Quell, former director of Shadow Tech, who had gone into hiding after the war.   After leaving the SAC Weekes moved the newly founded Federal colony of Oppenheim in 2269. He'd live out the rest of his days on Openheim with his wife Taala Weekes, working as a hunter and farmer once again.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Weekes would earn the rank of First Lieutenant as well as numerous decorations for his service during the Galactic War (Apart from his status as the deadliest sniper of the war). They are as follows (in no particular order):   Purple Heart - For injuries sustained during Operation Cicada   Medal of Honor - For his actions at the end of Operation Cicada   Distinguished Service Medal - Awarded upon achieving 500 confirmed kills   Distinguished Service Cross - For his actions during the Siege of Duenot   Bronze Star Medal - For his actions during the invasion of Chaffron   Army Achievement Medal - For distinguished service in the Federal Armed forces.   CEC Corps Achievement Medal - For distinguished service in the Federal CEC Corps   Campaign Medals - Awarded in recognition of Omega Squads most influential operations   The 300 Medal - Awarded for being the one of the first 300 CECs   Additionally the "Adam B. Weekes" award, known simply as The Weekes, would be given in recognition of snipers who excel among their peers. To this day it is the most prestigious award given in the Sniper Corps.    In his later years Weekes would finally agree to be interviewed by the FNN about his time as a CEC and his story would inspire several works about the CEC corps and the war itself. He'd author two books near the end of his life, his memoir "The Watchdog" and a philosophical novel "If This War Doesn't Kill You I Will", both published posthumously. His second novel remains a best seller and is lauded as one of the greatest works of anti war literature ever written. The book was dedicated to Quincy Spiers and the rest of Omega Squad.

Mental Trauma

“When I got back from the war I tried to kill myself. I’ve never told anybody this. I hadn’t been home in years. Most of my friends, my squad mates, the people who had been my family for what felt like forever, were gone. When I got back to New Mendoza I thought I’d be happy, to finally reunite with the people I hadn’t seen in so long. It was horrible. Speaking to these people who I had grown up with and realizing that they didn’t know me anymore, that I couldn’t connect with them. I wasn’t the same person I had been when I left. I never would be again. I ended up spending most of my time hunting. I was surrounded by people and places I had know all my life, and somehow the only thing that felt familiar was the killing.” - Adam Weekes

Morality & Philosophy

During his interview as a candidate for the CEC program Weekes would state that although he didn't enjoy killing people, he wasn't bothered by it either. This lack of both wrath and remorse made him an exceptionally proficient killer. As the conflict wore on however Weekes' actions began to weigh on him. By the end of the war and his time at the SAC Weekes would be fully anti war, due in part to the influence of his former squad mate Quincy Spiers.
