Leek Shards
Leek shards are rare and beautiful crystal that is only found in the Lambda Equulei system. It has some very unique properties.
The gems are a pale blue in colour, and quite translucent. They are valued because of how relatively easy they can be cut and shaped for jewelry and other decoration.
It's most unique property is the ability for it reform a solid piece once it's been cut or shattered. By pressing two shards together with a few pounds of force for several hours, the pieces will grow together and form one, larger piece without any visible seems. This allows for it to be formed into many unique shapes.
The [Lambda Equuleites have learned how shape these into very efficient focusing crystals for use in energy weapons.
