  Once again, Skink proves why he is the main character by slaying the newest convert to Marena the Patron of the Greater Duchy of Morgau and former lieutenant to Egor's tribe. However this was just one member, and when a weak part dies the whole gets stronger. Ancient tradition dictates that the next leader is chosen by a complex tournament structure where brave participants battle to the death.   Konrad has Geese of Unusual Size which he hopes to use to fly into space, around the side of Midgard, and make it into the Summerlands of the fey. This will bypass the usual method of traveling through Shadow Roads, controlled by the Shadow Fey and generally suspicious of outsiders. Issue being, geese are not naturally magical enough and he realizes he needs swans instead. Trying to cheap out on components has once again come back to bite Konrad in the butt. I don't think Lumi was impressed by Konrad's creativity and genius at using battle geese to pull a chariot into space.   Vedran purchases the excess geese to give fresh produce to his troops, after all morale comes from the stomach. Murmis and Vailima will study the Khorsian recruits to check for side-effects of the new diet. Murmis gets out his scale to weigh bowel movements to collect the necessary data.   The heroes descend in the hole in the ground and paratrooper their way into the third level, former domain the dwarves and currently home to the trollkin. Netting the heroes a surprise round, though still being hampered by the lack of light in the area that even dancing lights can't fully fix.   Eric has left the group to set personal affairs in order in Zobeck, and from the pile of rocks jumps out a righteous warrior! A new ally has entered the arena!.
