Session Report 013: In Which the Heroes Become the First Spacefarers in Known History
Wherein Exposition Occurs
The heroes finish their business with the devil Baska, sending him back to the Eleven Hells and descend the staircase down to level 3 of the Scarlet Citadel: Dwarven Barracks. Here they find the smashed remains of a still grandoise entrace hall, evidence of the siege brought by the Church of Khors to drive the dwarves out of the Scarlet Citadel over 100 years ago. Playing around with Cagoth-ze's ring, the party discovers it protects them from the pink rift in time. The dwarves brought their gods with them and there is one door that shows the symbol of Thor but there is no way to open the door. As they search deeper into the level they discover a jammed door and unstick it with a horse proving once and for all that horseplay does not lead to sickbay. This alerts the current inhabitants that there are intruders and a great number of trollkin and lich dogs descend upon the heroes. Wendy Wetsie doll wins MVP by making the floor impassable for the trollkin however the lich hounds are able to fly above it. As the numbers continue to accrue against the heroes they realize that discretion is the better part of valor and make a tactical retreat to come up with a battleplan prior to starting a Second Siege on the Scarlet Citadel. As they rest up, the party visits their favorite purveyor of magical goods Konrad. There they see he has a rather large amount of swans of unusual size that he intends to harness up to a chariot large enough for a small party of adventurers. Erky takes the reins guides the flight higher and higher. The air gets thin and at the air envelope at the edge of Midgard, the chariot breaches into the unknown and a most mysterious thing happens: an air bubbles sticks to the chariot and surrounds the heroes with breathable air surrounded by the vacuum of Wildspace. Suspicious of the claims of a flat Midgard, the party looks down fron on high and realizes that the world is indeed a giant disk, though it is surrounded in heavy mist with mountains or perhaps scales of the Great Serpant breaking into vision every few moments. Flying through Wildspace the heroes use up their air and seen a 1-mile asteroid with shining lights, evidence of civilization. The air growing hot and humid as the swans worked hard to keep the chariot moving, so they decide to return to Midgard and better prepare themselves for these high adventures. Aladar Abbadar the First, Chainer of Dragons and Maker of Schools of Wizardry, a mage of questionable morals is reached out to in hopes he will help them bind an air elemental to a ship to supply fresh air in Wildspace. Will the promise of extra-terran riches sway him to help? Or will Erky's past come home to roost?Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
