Session 010: In Which the Players Press Onwards, Attacking Cagoth-ze Lieutenant to Gellert the Gruesome
Wherein Exposition Occurs
Pushing deeper, the mysteries of the Citadel begin to unfurl and the heroes realize what this level truly contains: the Arcance Scriptorium and the Alchemist's Furnace. They are suspicious of a side-room filled with vats of ooze essence and rig it with a small strand and glue to note if anybody has passed through the area. Deeper they go; having already dispatched the eccentric Danaska they now come to face Cagoth-ze, the Time Gnome and 3rd-in-command of the Scarlet Citadel. But they activated his trap card! The devil Baska was summoned and trapped here through a summoning circles left by the elves who originally inhabited the Scarlet Citadel. But Cagoth-ze had no idea what to do him so he a made a deal...with a devil... that if Baska would kill the PCs then he would be set free. And devils are very lawful creatures so he was bound by this contract. the voice of Adderly was not reused for the making of this character The battle rages long and vicious but Baska is slain even through the time-warping abilities of the area. A few stray daggers and Elritch Blasts get sucked up in a Time Stream that go back in time. Young-Eric gets saved from certain death by Future-Eric (Present-Eric? Because he's a gift to be around). Vedran gets accused of blowing up library books and receives dirty looks from libraries to this day. Cagoth-ze's ring seem to provide some measure of protection from this stream and the heroes use Skink's abilities to hop over it.Wherein Highlights of the Day Get Written and Codified Into Canon
- Vailima - Hired a crier and yelled at her Supervisor at EA, Busam Duhru, telling him he didn't do anything and that she will be the one actually putting in the hard work out in the field. She used her raspberry-blowing skills learned in the fight against the Mephits again him.
- Eric - Did some side mercenary work and has been offered an invitation by Mayor Wislaw Broz to enter the town's inner politics, as long as he plays ball.
- Vedran - Has appointed Behmed Raltuk as Lord Commander and Reagent of Those Who Seek the Light, High Brigadier of Training at the Temple of Kohrs at Redtower. However he doesn't quite fully understand that he needs to grease the Wheel of Bureaucracy if he wants to truly further his agenda.
- Lumi - Begins plotting revenge against Zula, the innocent witch who has been forced to live outside the village. All for the crime of using using a single skunk's entrails to divine into the future. So she built a "sanctuary" army camp and posted "Not Allowed" signs around it with a not very flattering image of She-Who-Will-No-Longer-Be-Named.
- Egor - Went to train alone to unlock something from within himself... Be prepared...
