Session 008: In Which the Heroes Destroy Priceless Equipment and Anger Danaska
Wherein Exposition Occurs
Battered, the heroes situate themselves themselves back in their hometown of Redtower. Many ideas are hatched about how to build into the town into a veritable tourist attraction:
- An amphitheater with Konrad as the Senior Executive Producer - he's already seen Mesmeralda in action (which leads to a thought, do weapons typically have masculine or feminine names? I know vehicles are feminine, but I've never named a weapon...)
- Magical Menagerie - Fantasy Pet-store
- The Upgraded Crossroads Company and Mercenary Group Extraordinaire of Wayward Souls
- Church of Khors Light - Where gentlemen and women come to get their thirsty souls nourished by the amber nectar of life
Out of the pan and into the fryer... The heroes return from Hell and go back into the Scarlet Citadel. They pass by Ushulx and give her some more blood to make wine with as she continues, uh, ya know it's probably best to just leave it to the imagination what she does with full control of this level.
A large Alchemists Furnace bubbled and burbled as elemental mephits of infinite jest trashed the place and hurled ink in the face of Vailima.
As the large cauldrons got closer and closer to exploding, Vailima "won" an annoy-a-thon against the mephit in an attempt to prove who could be more annoying. So she gets to put that on her tombstone...
The furnace exploded and filling the room with a thick acidic substance, some of it formed itself into an amalgamation of a gelatinous cube and ochre jelly. Through steel and magic the heroes put the mephits and cube to rest (though not after learning that using slashing magic on the beast gave it more pseudopod attacks and nearly dying to their acidic slams).
Afterwards the heroes were graciously met by the owner of the furnace: Danaska Maksilov who is about to open a can of whoop ass the likes of which Midgard has never seen. Can the heroes talk her down before she kills them all? Will they really try to blame this one of the mephits?
