Session 003: In Which the Heroes Strike Back and Form a Fell Alliance

Wherein Exposition Occurs

The party meets with Ushulx who wants freedom from the Gaoler's terrible wrath, only wanting to be left alone to worship her god Charun. The heroes form a plan to lure the Gaoler into Charun's temple with Eric disguised as Ushulx lying in wait to stab him in the back. The Gaoler, unable to animate his instruments of torture, resorts to pure horror to infect the minds of his enemies and is able to knock out Ushulx in one mind bending attack! He is almost able to win the day but thanks to Konrad (and I guess Lumi too) the Necklace of Fireballs burns the Gaoler to a crisp!   The heroes explore the torture chamber and discover an ancient Frog Statue that mystifies anybody who attempts to spend too much time on it and pulls them into The Void. Was this placed here by the elves who ran the library? That doesn't explain it's connection with the unknowable Void, the plane of chaos that is beyond the ken of man but might have been the birthplace of all creation.

Wherein Highlights of the Day Get Written and Codified Into Canon

  • Vailima - Has mastered the game of Nasty Word/Nice word who both confound her foes and embolden her allies
  • Eric - Ushulx has taken a liking to him. What great friends they'll become!
  • Vedran - Ushulx has taken a disliking to him. What great frenemies they'll become!
  • Lumi - Has picked up whittling and hopes to start a duck pipe dynasty.
  • Egor - Learns that raw strength and muscles aren't all there is to this world. He stares into the Void and it returns the look. He sees in unknowable nature of all that is beyond him and cowers before his insignificance in the cosmos.
