Session 003: In Which the Heroes Realize the Game is Afoot
Wherein Exposition Occurs
With the recent release of a new Ace Attorney, the heroes test out their investigation skills and try to set up all their ducks in a row. Do they use advanced magic and technology to find tiny details that point to a particular suspect? No, they knock out one of the suspects and disguise themselves as him just before the will is to be read. Surely this was the plan all along... right? The Heroes investigated and interrogated, though they mostly played the bad-cop/bad-cop routine. Many clues were wrested from the environment though there were some odd occurrences... Books moving, blood flowing from statues. The murder and snowstorm must be causing much stress to the heroes and causing them to imagine things that aren't truly there! Adderly cracked open a stone tablet and an image of the passed General Vartan Legora read his will aloud to the group. He decreed that ownership of the Company will go to whoever is democratically appointed. The General reveals that he made a fell bargain with devils in order to ensure the success of his mercenary company and in return they put a portal under his ancestral home which will fully after the General's death. Can the heroes close it in time? Chaos reigned in the house that Legora built and devils and demons seemed to possess the very foundation. The Captains all retreated to their men, their minds being warped by demonic influence. Even the heroes may not escape this influence...Dramatis Personae
The Captains all stand to gain from the murder of General Vartan Legora as he was about to name his successor to the Crossroads Company, one of the most professional mercenary groups in Midgard. Perhaps not all were happy with his choice...- Captain Blademark - The Procurer and his lieutenant, Tova. Has their torrid love affair become so passionate that emotions have been flamed towards a hostile takeover of the company? Or does society simply not accept Half-orcs and Gnomes as acceptable bedmates?
- Captain Lucia Rakell - The Manipulator and her lieutenant, Bertram. The ceaseless wars surrounding the Seven Cities changed cultural norms of that area. Poison is an accepted battlefield tactic there, though it is still considered most evil the rest of the world. Is she being unjustly fingered for being from the "wrong" area? Or did she hide the murder aid in plain site by gifting the General the night orchid plant that still resides in the arboretum?
- Captain Hakar al-Atam - The Muscle and his lieutenant, Tennrick. Dragon's blood flows through his mighty heart! He respects only strength, considering all else beneath him
- Adderly- the major domo. For years he has ran the Generals estate, tending to his every need. Ensuring that his nightly tonic has been administered in his Crossroads Company branded mug (more merch available at booth 266 in GenCon). Has he finally snapped or is he simply a faithful servent?
