Session 002: In Which the Heroes Face-Off Against the Fearsome Pincer Technique

Wherein Exposition Occurs

  The Gaoler and his pet Scar are ready for the heroes attack and deploy the The Pincer Technique, squeezing the heroes from both sides in order to break not just their body but their mind too! Through wily maneuvering Erky slayed both the Gaoler and Scar. Freeing this level from the tortuous control of the Gaoler and granting it to the remaining occupant and favorite blood cultist: Ushulx.   Inspecting the torture room the heroes realized their knowledge of battle would not help against the dread instilled by Frog Statue. Visions flashed into their minds of the The Void - the unknowable beyond, a realm of pure chaos said to have birthed all other planes of existence.   Whispers of the dead seemingly emanate from the hold Holzanger shrine dedicated to the first of his line - Gerhardt Holzanger the Elder. His corpse held in gentle repose, forever warding off decay from his corpse, yet all his valuables have been claimed by other graverobbers of the past.   Darkness surrounded the heroes and shadows attacked! Draining the party of their strength and their attacks failing to find firm purchase against these ghostly apparitions. Ushulx's blood dagger was able to fully penetrate the shadows defenses and with it the shadows were slain and sent back to the Dry Lands.   As the heroes plunged deeper into the Holzanger catacombs they find parts collapsed and can hear quiet wails from the grave pierce their ears. Many locked doors exist in the catacombs, what treasures do they keep? Or is the question too dangerous to answer...
