Session 001: In Which the Heroes Make the Feathers Fly And run Afoul of the Law
Wherein Exposition Occurs
Clearing out the ruins the heroes find an owlbear nest - created by the dwarves who studied magic here many years ago. Only you can prevent owlbears! The owlbear population in the White Forest was born of these dwarven experiments. Their attempts to breed the perfect animal companion have since escaped their control and run amok in the forest. To great applause, Constable Roch enters stage left and begins to layeth the smackdown on adventurers! Long have adventurers been Harbingers of Ill Portent. Since the fabled era of Hommlet, adventurers would flock to these small towns and bring with them ruin and chaos. Just as the Temple of Elemental Evil upended Hommlet, will the heroes bring Chaos with them as they explore the Scarlet Citadel?Wherein Highlights of the Day Get Written and Codified Into Canon
Descending into the ruined keep the party found more feathers! This time belonging to a pair of harpies whose song is sweet and alluring. The barbarian realized his one true weakness: Good music! (and Wisdom Saves). He entered into lyrical fueled rage, putting to same any and all previous and future mosh pits. Unfortunately, he watched on as his party kept getting knocked down one by one. As his party was about to fall, he snapped out of his daze and took revenge upon the harpy's and saving his friends! Licking their wounds, the party rests under the stars within the ruins of this idyllic yet overgrown keep. An alert watch scanned the horizon for enemies, but as he did so the very vines on the castle begun to twist and strangle him! The intense magic radiating from the Ley Lines here continues to show itself in strange ways, infecting even the plant life. The heroes trudged back to town ready for a warm beer and a cold bed. Wait. Strike that, reverse it.But as those visions circulated they were snapped back to reality by the angry constable and told they were being arrested for blowing up a home in the city! The heroes negotiated a deal with the constable, to let them stay at the inn for the night so they would tend their wounds. The constable graciously agreed to these terms and put a watch outside their rooms for the night. Will the party be able to talk their way out of this one? Or will they get the book thrown at them?Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
