Session 001: In Which the Heroes Escape And March Towards Revenge

Wherein Exposition Occurs

One satisfies the Gaoler's cruel inclinations while the remaining heroes get a night's rest. Papa Gru is tortured deep into the night, with only his faith to sustain him. All tortue and no pray make Gru a dull boy. All tortue and no pray make Gru a dullboy. All torue and no pray make grrru dul boy.   Torture is hard work! Don't let anybody else tell you otherwise. And breaktime is a synonym for breakout time! During this brief opening, Erky and Ushulx split to save the heroes from their predicament. Papa Gru is freed from his cage but soon realizes the power of the Gaoler has over his torture devices as one animates andrampages about the room.   As things begin to look grim once again, the mighty Krognar enters! With Justice in his eyes and beer in his beard he makes a last stand against the Gaoler and traps him into the doorway to the heroes and free themselves and the other prisoners.   Licking their wounds in town, our heroes find themselves full of righteous fury. The battle drums deepen. Low rumbles turn to a thunderous roar blocking out all else. Soon the party will descence upon the Gaoler and his pet red-ogre Scar. Will their scars and new found experience be enough to win the day?   Though what is Ushulx's deal? Papa Gru still seems suspicious of her... Does she really need those fingers taken from the slain bandits? Will the heroes overcome their differences with her and instill her as leader of the first level of the Scarlet Citadel?  

Wherein Highlights of the Day Get Written and Codified Into Canon

• Erky - While Ushulx has more "praying" to do to Charon, the witch-hermit Zula seemed open for his search for instructors, requesting a down payment of information or interesting magic gear.
• Gru - Met Cecylia, priestess of the Gear Goddess Rava and established enough rapport with her to learn that they are very interested in scrap metal and will pay for the return of such holy relics to their temple.
• Fox, The - Met with the retired adventurer Konrad who sells magic items to upcoming adventurers at reasonable rates. An example of his latest creation was the Wand of Wonder - which imparts random magical effects. To both party's chagrin it summoned a raging rhino which knocked Fox, The out and caused great damage to Konrad's home!
• Yawndell - Helped Ichbon fully recover from the horrors he faced who offered to supply the party with salves if they can send him the raw components. He is a well respected herbalist who just happened to be collecting herbs in the wrong area when the Gaoler's men showed up.
