The Shrinking Lowlands
On the eastern side of the mountainous spine that bisects The Isle was a network of rivers, fed by runoff and springs, woven across a wide land of peaceful countryside enveloped in low scrub and patchy grasslands. These lowland plains and wide grassy valleys were home to the island's largest inhabitants. Towering Sauropods and muscular Ceratopsids chewed the grass and mowed the perimeter of the jungle, keeping it at bay, while giant predatory Theropods stalked the herds from a distance. Beneath them all, legions of insects continued their secret lives, imitating the epic fights of the dinosaurs.
