Cubian fox badger

Fox badgers are creatures seen as clever and cunning by most cultures.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Cubian fox badger is a mustelid which follows many of the anatomical features of other mustelids such as four legs, small round ears, long tails, and long skulls. They're about the size of housecats, being pretty big for a mustelid.   Their species name translates to "fox mimic" which is accurate. They have orange fur with a very pale orange underbelly and a bushy tail with a tip that same pale orange colour.

Ecology and Habitats

These mustelids live in temperate rainforests and have specialized for that habitat. Their orange fur helps them blend in with autumn leaves and brown tree trunks.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They eat small birds and rodents.
