Surviving stranded people slowly gathered themselves and went inland to seek a more suitable place to claim as their own.

The makeshift shelters provided much less than needed. After they wintered in the crowded spaces lighting pyres for search parties. Unsuccesfull the people began to seek out a new place to start life in the harsh place that they found themselves in now. In the end they founded a fishing colony further upstream the delta as they knew how to fish, but didn't dare to take on open waters. The life was hard, but fish were plentiful so they setled there. Some folks were still anxious and stayed on the shore to lookout for ships. They felt it was too early to give up hope.
