Five years into founding the fishing posts. One of the canoes found a campfire on the eastern bank. Search parties were drafted from volunteers to spy on the site. Soon people arrived to fish and cut down few trees and reeds. Search party of Olaf the Brave halted these strangers and assumed them as friend rather than a foe. His asumption proved fruitfull as they discovered the men to be a part of their hired mercenaries, escorting the convoy. They landed eastward and came here from marshlands in that direction. Disease ridden and malnutrished, they led in some fifty more souls seeking shelter. The first winter was hard, some died, but most were back to health in time the spring came.
