  A thick sheet of cloth (normally linen) that has been covered or soaked in a hardened wax. This can be wrapped around an object with an encumbrance value of 3 or lower to protect it from the elements - most notably allowing the object to be completely submerged in most liquids without being damaged or disabled. When covering ration or other foods on the trail this will allow it to be preserved for a longer period than if it was simply tucked into a saddlebag. The exact length of time the food can be preserved for depends on the type of food being covered - and is ultimately put to the GM to decide.
