Moonlamp

Spherical bulbs that sit atop long reeds that grow along quiet freshwater areas, Moonlamp's bulbs are extremely efficient at processing solar energy to the point that they have to expel the excess energy in the evenings in the form of a faint lumonous-blue glow. Remarkably beautiful when seen at night, moonlamp has inspired the poets and artists of many cultures across alwaus, and it is often seen as "bad luck" to remove to the bulbs from the earth (least a traveler at night need them to light their way home)   When plucked from their stems the bulbs continue to glow unless the petals are pulled away from the stem. The bulb gives a bright glow enough to illuminate all objects within short distance of the harvester. The glow fades slowly over time before ultimately snuffing out rough an hour or two after being plucked from the earth. A savvy explorer would know the effects of the glow can be preserved even longer if the bulbs are submerged completely in freshwater.
